VDI / DVGW 6023: Hygiene Conscious Planning, Execution, Operation and Maintenance of Drinking Water Installations “Category B”

Healthy drinking water?

Guideline VDI 6023 sheet 1 was designed with the support of the Federal Ministry of Health in VDI. The guideline gives important impetus for the planning, execution, operation and maintenance of drinking water systems. It formulates the necessary hygienic requirements as long as they have not found their way to laws, ordinances or regulations. This guideline was published in April, 2013 in the edition VDI/DVGW 6023.

The connections between technical building equipment, health and well-being of users makes it necessary that, in the future, architects, hygienists and engineers define the demands of technical equipment of buildings especially under hygienic aspects along with the operator.

The hygienic trainings will be conducted according to the demands of VDI 6023 sheet 1. Especially, the necessary skills for the hygienic inspection, maintenance, repair and operation of drinking water systems are conveyed to the seminar participants.

The successful participation in the training according to category B authorizes the participant to perform simple hygienic activities in the maintenance and repair of drinking water systems with the exception of the activities that legally have to be performed by special experts.
