Knowledge relating to occupational safety and health

Gerüste auf Großbaustelle mit Sicherheitskoordinator gemäß RAB 30 Anlage BThe ordinance of construction sites of June 10th, 1998 requires building managers use suitable coordinators in the process of planning and execution of construction projects. This is to significantly improve the safety and health circumstances for workers on construction sites. The “Committee on Safety and Health Protection on Construction”, set up by the Federal Minister of Labor and Social Affairs passed the rule for the required suitability of the coordinators in accordance to the current state of science and technology on April 4th, 2001.

The rule for "occupational health and safety on construction sites - RAB 30", published in the Federal Journal 6/2003 describes the necessary qualifications for a coordinator and his tasks:   RAB 30 includes in particular the following qualifications appropriate Coordinators are required to have (further information on the conditions listed below can be found here):

- Construction-knowledege  (acquired through training to become a civil engineer or architect and professional experience)
